Fresh Batch Jams is a family run, home-based business specializing in homemade jams, and jelly.  All products are made in a state inspected kitchen.

Owners Mitch and Kim Cortez believe the perfect recipe for unforgettable jam begins with high quality fruit. 

Kim was taught the almost lost art of making jam and canning by her grandmother.  She holds fond memories of picking fresh blackberries and heading back to her grandmothers kitchen to make homemade Blackberry Jam.  This is where Kim's love for preserving began and she has been perfecting her skills ever since. 

Fresh Batch Jam's humble beginnings began by making jams for a fundraiser in 2004.  After their oldest son was diagnosed with leukemia, Mitch and Kim sold their homemade jams to friends, family and co-workers to raise money for the Leukemia Society.  Once the fundraiser ended, many people were still interested in purchasing the jams.  Our items are made in a state inspected kitchen.

Thus, Fresh Batch Jams was born and has been selling at local farmer's markets, festivals and craft shows ever since.




What does all natural and low sugar really mean?

Well, to start, our jams only use fruit, spices, a 100% natural citrus pectin and pure cane sugar.
No fillers. No Corn Syrup. Nothing more!   

The pectin we use is diverted from natural citrus fruit and allows us to control the amount of sugar needed.  The sweeter the fruit, the less sugar we use!  Traditional Jam recipes calls for 65% sugar.  However, our fruit spreads contain 20% less sugar per batch than traditional recipes*.  By limiting the sugar that goes into each batch of jam, the natural sweetness of the fruit shines through!    *Pepper jellies excluded.

The answer - by using the freshest fruit available!  We work with many local farmers to obtain fresh, high quality fruit and in turn, support our local agriculture.  Many times our family is recruited to help pick our own fruit at local farms.  A few hours later and a few stirs of a spoon, an unbelievable jam is born!
